St George Hotel located at 618 Canterbury Road on the corner of Kingsgrove Road, Belmore was opened by Aaron Brown during 1893. The area was then known as Mount Pleasant and Aaron Brown hoped the hotel would become a meeting place for the "social elite" of the surrounding districts. Thomas W. <br>Daymond was licensee from 1914-1921. A heritage panel was unveiled outside the hotel by the Mayor, Councillor Kayee Griffin on 15 April, 1999.
