NOTES
Note 1:At the time these photographs were taken this area of Hurlstone Park was known as Dulwich Hill. Note 2: The NSW Protestant Federation Girls’ Home was established in 1921 by John Thomas Ness as a home for girls mostly from single parent families - often a parent had passed away or for some reason the parent or parents could not care for their children full time. In some instances the surviving parent needed to work so their girls lived at the Home during the week and often went home with their parent or parents for the weekend and holidays.
